Taë Schmeisser is a Melbourne based Jewellery designer and maker. Coming from a family of professional artists (Father: Master printmaker and Mother: Shibori textile artist), Taë completed a BA Visual Arts - glass, at the Australian National University, before expanding her material vocabulary in ceramics, and gold + silversmithing in Melbourne. Her studies in Glass and ceramics took her to Toyama Institute of Glass Art (TIGA) and Kyoto Seika University, both in Japan and in 2008 Taë was awarded the e.g. etal graduate award. In 2009 she was awarded Artist in Residence at Skopart - The Skopelos Art Foundation, Greece and has been exhibiting nationally since 2002. In 2017 Taë was a finalist in the Victorian Craft awards.
Her seasonal jewellery label bëuy (pronounced 'boy') was launched in 2011/12, and showcases affordable contemporary jewellery, featuring internally hand airbrush painted glass elements. Bëuy was a finalist in the 2017 Victorian Craft awards and winner of the Mansfield Glass Art Jewellery prize in 2017 and is tucked in Galleries and retail spaces Australia wide
